Metaswitch Networks Hits Milestones
Thoughts on Carrier Evolution (Jan 13 2010)
-
Metaswitch Networks closed 2009 with 250 customers for the Network Protocols Division and topped the 500 mark for the Carrier Systems Division.
The landmark "customer 500" is in the Philippines: Misamis Oriental Telephone System Inc. This progressive incumbent provider is ready to leave the decades of TDM behind for today's cost-saving benefits and advanced application capabilities of an IP telephony solution.
Celtro became the 250th customer of the Network Protocols Division. Celtro selected Metaswitch MPLS and IP Routing protocol suites to power their mobile backhaul switching solutions.
In the most recent Service Provider VoIP Equipment and Subscribers Q3 2009 report from Infonetics Research, Metaswitch maintained the number one position in North America with a 59.9 percent market share in Class 5 softswitch licenses while also holding a 24.4 percent share worldwide.
